La Baleine means “the whale” in English, and it is a fitting name because the villa of the same name (BAL) benefits from terrific views and a close relationship with the Caribbean Sea. The luxury rental property is on the northwestern tip of St. Barth, in Colombier, where it has beautiful panoramic vistas of the sea and its sunset views.

La Baleine was built in traditional St. Barth fashion, with hints of colonial-style wood carvings and a white slatted fence along the veranda. Over the years, it has retained its simplicity and authenticity, resulting in an easygoing feeling. The house is a comfortable place to live, and its layout, with the bedrooms very private from one another, makes it a good choice for a group of adults to share.

The villa is situated across three levels. The arrival level is where you will find the cozy living room and kitchen, which are separated from one another by a counter. One of the bedrooms is also on this level, and an air-conditioned office occupies a second, small bungalow. In the outdoor space between the buildings, there are various places to sit and relax or share a meal beside the grill.

One level below, the pool has a large terrace with chaise lounges and a sitting area. A second bedroom is on this level.

On the highest floor, one level above the arrival area and living room, there is the third bedroom. It is smaller than the others, but it has a large terrace in front of it and endless views – the best in the house. Each bedroom has a king-size bed and an ensuite bathroom.
