Meet Didier, local carpenter

Didier is one of those people.

A multi-generational islander and trusted carpenter for many Sibarth projects and beyond, his work sits subtly throughout villas and homes across Saint Barts. We recently spent an afternoon with Didier at his home and workshop in Flamands. Between the scent of cut wood and the steady hum of tools, what stood out most was his presence. Sincere, good-humored, and completely at ease.

He speaks about his craft with the calm confidence of someone who has done this for years, often with a joke never far behind.

There is nothing rushed about his process. Each piece of wood is measured, cut, adjusted, and reconsidered until it belongs exactly where it will live.
