Eddy Stakelborough grew up surrounded by the traditions and changes of St. Barth, working alongside his father at Le Select, the island’s oldest running bar established in 1949.
What followed helped inspire the now-famous “cheeseburger in paradise”, proof that even casual food can become part of island lore.
In 1995, he opened Eddy’s Ghetto in Gustavia, offering a fusion of French and Creole cuisines in a lush tropical setting. Both establishments continue to serve as vibrant gathering places, embodying the island’s spirit of community and culinary tradition.
